With their upcoming wedding ceremony right around the corner, I wanted to show Patty and Mauricio’sĀ  fun downtown engagement session that we had the other week. Charleston has so many great alleyways and cobblestone streets that just about everywhere you turn it’s a beautiful location. Maybe that’s why we are the #1 City in America right now. ha! They will be getting married at the Old Exchange Building in downtown Charleston. A beautiful and historic location for sure, and pretty cool that it has a pirate dungeon in it too! šŸ˜‰ So looking forward to their big day!

We had a great time this 4th of July with our very own neighborhood parade in the morning lead by one of the fire trucks from the City of Charleston Fire Department! How cool is that?! I think that just about every single kid from the neighborhood came out to ride their bikes behind the fire truck. Everyone was decked out with American flags, banners, and some even dressed up in costume for the occasion. Some of the adults even dressed up their golf carts to drive in the parade. We made a quick loop around the block then ended back up at the neighborhood pool for a cookout. Now I realize this wasn’t quite all of the hooplah of the Macy’s fireworks display in New York City for the 4th, but it was pretty cool never the less to see all of the kids so excited and happy just to be in a parade! It was a great sense of community involvement to have fun with all of your neighbors. It reminded me of a funny post that I saw on Facebook yesterday that tied in with the passing of Andy Griffith recently. “We need more Mayberry, and less Jersey Shore…..” Isn’t that the truth! šŸ˜‰

Here were some quick pics!

Recently Hope and Dave tied the knot at her families church, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and then celebrated with family and friends at Founders Hall in Charletowne Landing. What a wonderful service at her church and then a great party for their reception! Now Dave and all of his buddies are big time softball players and he loves the sport so much that you can find elements of his passion all throughout the details of their wedding. How Dave proposed to Hope was a really special event that took a lot of planning and coordination to say the least. Instead of me trying to explain it, you can read all about it on their custom designed engagement site that I created awhile back to keep all of the guests up to date on everything going on before the wedding. Just click on the “details” section right HERE. (A special thanks goes out to my buddy, Joey Grob, for helping me photograph this wedding!) Congratulations to the both of you and I wish you many, many happy years of marriage! šŸ˜‰
