Just some quick pics from today’s surprise proposal out on Folly Beach today. Only in Charleston can I be wearing a t-shirt while out on the beach photographing a surprise proposal session. haha! 😉

The first pic was how I buried the very cool bottle the Ali made with a note inside of it for her to find…….

What a fun time I had hiding out in the swamp with the gators and snakes waiting for Frank to bring his lovely girlfriend (now fiancee) to Magnolia Gardens Plantation. Frank and I had been emailing and talking for several weeks prior about when and where he wanted to propose to Jessica. I always make a point to draw out a map for guys on these types of shoots so that they will know how to be positioned for the best angle for me. Without fail Frank hit his mark on the red bridge and totally caught Jessica by surprise! I don’t even think that she noticed me across the pond area swatting mosquitoes and bugs trying to blend in the best that I could. We even had a little crowd of tourists behind me while I was photographing. 😉 Afterwards we went around the garden area for some beautiful backdrops at the historic plantation. I was hoping a peacock would come and strut his stuff by us, but I think since it was a bit hot in July, the birds decided to stay in the shade under the moss lined oak trees that are out there. Congrats to both Frank and Jessica on their engagement!

When Kylin contacted me about setting up a surprise proposal shoot for his girlfriend Jordan, he said that he really wanted the beach and a lighthouse. Well that wasn’t a problem at all! I set up on Folly Beach near the Morris Island Lighthouse to get ready for their arrival. It’s always fun trying to blend in as just some photographer taking pics on the beach and trying not to attract to much attention to myself.  Now during the spring time the sand gnats come out in full force, but thankfully there was a good breeze blowing on the beach that day that helped to keep them at bay. Well, that and some bug spray to also help! ha! Jordan just thought that they were going for a nice walk along the beach and to see a really cool lighthouse out in the ocean. Little did she know what Kylin had in store for her! She was so surprised and I think there were even a few “happy tears” involved. Congratulations to the both of you and may your upcoming plans be filled with excitement and joy! 😉
