I really do love photographing surprise proposals. I always pre plan everything with the guys ahead of time like where I’ll be hiding in the bushes! ha! We always go over the location details, the timeline, what the couple will be wearing, what are my cues before he goes down on his knee, etc. I even find myself getting nervous and excited waiting for the moment to happen because I know how the guy feels. I remember being so nervous myself when I asked my wife over 10 years ago now. Sweaty palms, shortness of breath, heart beating a mile a minute! Hoping that she says YES! Ugh! :-) Well luckily for Ramin,  Tanya said yes and since they have been dating for over 4 years now, I think that she knew the question was coming sooner than later. Congratulations to the both of you! I was so happy to be a part of this very special occasion. Now since it was my birthday and I was already full of cake and ice cream, I thought it was a pretty cool way to end the night!

So for all of you N’Sync fans who about had a heart attack at the brief reunion on the MTV Video Music Awards show 2013 last night, I give you Mr. Joey Fatone of N’Sync!

Joey was a super nice guy and a pleasure to meet! He even warned me several times that during his tee-off’s that I might want to get behind the golf cart just for my own safety! ha!

I did watch the show last night and Justin Timberlake had probably the best performance of the night hands down. It was really cool for him (Justin) to accept his award and acknowledge the accomplishments of his partners in N’Sync.  These were some quick shots that I had of Joey Fatone at this year’s Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Pro-Am Golf Tournament held in Myrtle Beach this year.   If you ever want to meet some really great celebrities face to face on the golf course, this is the Pro Am tournament to be at every year! I always have a great time helping out my friend Matthew Glac of MG Photography for this shoot every year.

Sara / I love me some Joey. He is such a great person. He is a runner and that makes him even better.   08.26.2013- 09:17pm

For several years now I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Mike and Susan’s beautiful family. I’ve photographed the kids since they were little itty bitty girls and now they are growing up so fast! It’s so fun to watch each of their personalities grow and develop though out the year as they get older (and more independent) ha! :-)   We had the chance to go out to Runnymede Plantation over looking the beautiful Ashley River on Hwy 61 just past Magnolia Gardens. There is a magnificent old oak tree near the ruins of the plantation house that some say is 2nd oldest to the great Angel Oak Tree out on Johns Island. Now I’m not a 100% sure about that, but it is impressive to say the least. Thanks again to the Lamontagne family for allowing me to watch their family grow over the years. It’s not too late to book an end of the summer family portrait shoot! (Daylight savings time ends Nov. 2nd)  Call or email to schedule an appointment!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the current  Miss South Carolina 2013, Brooke Mosteller for the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Even though she represents the entire state, we just had to take this hometown Mt. Pleasant girl to some of our favorite spots in Charleston! Brooke was so much fun to work with and a really genuinely humble person. There were several times when little girls would run up to her to have their picture taken with Miss South Carolina and Brooke would remove her crown and place it on top of their heads. You should have seen how those little girls faces would just light up with joy that “they” were wearing the official crown! Too cute! We wish you the best of luck for the upcoming Miss America  Beauty Pageant being held in Atlantic City, NJ on Sept. 15th, 2013. Go Brooke! :-)

Even though Barbara and Mike were married in St. Lucia at the Sandals Grand Resort & Spa back in May, they wanted to have a party for all of their friends and family right here in Charleston. What better way to have a party in the #1 city in the world (according to Conde Nast Traveler) than to start off at Charleston Place Hotel and then dinner at Magnolia’s in downtown. A little bit of rain couldn’t stop this party from happening with a carriage ride to dinner and then a quick stroll over to Waterfront Park. Congratulations to the both of you! (I would have been happy to travel down to St. Lucia for you…..just saying!) ha! :-)

I had a great time photographing Keith and Jenni’s wedding a few weeks ago at The Lakehouse at Bulow just outside of Charleston in the Red Top area. A beautiful evening with a great couple to photograph!

What a beautiful wedding out on Johns Island for Kathryn and Adam at her parents home a few weeks ago! There were just so many amazing details with all of gorgeous flower arrangements, incredible food, and even a photobooth and corn hole games for all of the guests to enjoy! Now even with a rainy day, Kathryn had a permanent smile on her face all day long. Right before the ceremony  the rain clouds held off and they were able to have their wedding outside as planned under the oak trees right by the riverfront. It couldn’t have been timed any better than that. :-) Congratulations to the both of you!

Some of the great vendors who helped out with this wedding:

Wedding Coordinator - Denise Barto with All Occasions, Caterer – Jason Walker, Wedding Cake Design by Jim Smeal, Bartender – Vince Gilmore, Band – Coast Runner Band, Flowers by Terry Hawkins, Photobooth by Palmetto City Photobooth, Transportation provided by Lancaster Tours.

Jennifer and Greg were married a year ago, but during all of the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, never got a chance to do an “engagement” session before the ceremony. So since they live in Atlanta now, they decided to make the quick trip to Charleston and and celebrate their one year anniversary. I just happened to be lucky enough to get to do a photo session with them while they were here in town! They did a good job picking Charleston for a destination because it’s only the best city in the entire WORLD, according to Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. I am a little biased having grown up here. :-) We had great weather and fun time taking a quick tour of some favorite spots that I have here in Charleston. Congratulations on your one year anniversary and I hope that you have many, many more to come!
